On a weighted system, barite is one of the largest line items in the fluid budget. A recovery centrifuge run at a low bowl speed returns the weighting material to the active system and discharges the lighter fines to your polishing centrifuge to be removed and the clean effluent returned to the active system.

The economics are usually straightforward. The heavier the mud weight and the longer the interval, the faster the unit pays for itself. We will look at the program and tell you honestly whether recovery is worth running on your well or whether you are better served by a single high speed machine.
Recovery is normally the first stage of a two centrifuge arrangement, with a second unit downstream handling low gravity solids.
